Modernist Artwork

This modernist artwork called “Once Upon a Time”(2007) by Bob Kelly. This oil painting constructed from three main parts in which is land, sea, and sky. For the land, Mr. Kelly used many wavy lines as enter into the sea, and I could see many oblique lines as draw into the sea. However, the horizontal line between the comparison wavy lines and the oblique lines from the sea. Mr. Kelly used very few colors in the painting, blue, dark green, and primary gold. The size of the beach helps me gauge the depth of the interior space the painting depicts. From the sky, the natural cloud made an old man who laughs as the happy image. Besides, the rough grasses on the land that it run by wind. However, I could feel much amazing because I could see the season signal that fall is coming, the dark green grasses changes to the primary gold, and the blue sky appeared a happy man. I think that it is all about the artist why gave the “Once Upon a Time”. Of course, this is a successful artwork because it cost me pay my attention to it.

The House with Nature

This art work called “The House with Nature” by Zhi Lin. This idea came from my mind since I was read an article and a movie about a man lived alone in the small island during his entire life. Besides, I created it by computer. I compared a few thick green lines and thin green line as the nature environment. However, the wavy lines indicate natural energy radiating from the apparition’s head that it is clearly symbolic.

The Crossing

This art work called “The Crossing”, I have copied the contemporary artist Bill Viola creates imagery (Textbook page 56). It touched me on a deeply emotional level and affirmed the necessity of art. This was a space of contemplation, of cognition, and of emotion. It’s about a man who enters a darkened room. After, fire are built, a man are firing. His body almost fills in fire, soon his entire body has disappeared in the fire-room.
